Social Media Marketing Coordinator

The Sober School is looking to work with a Social Media Marketing Coordinator. Our ideal candidate understands that social media isn’t all about likes and comments – it’s about creating brand awareness, growing our email list and expanding the reach of our online coaching programmes. 

The Sober School is headquartered in Glossop, Derbyshire. We offer coaching and community to help women quit drinking alcohol in an easy, empowered way. Our students don’t want to go to AA meetings and they don’t need to go to rehab. They’re looking for positive, non-judgemental education to help them ditch booze in a way that feels like a lifestyle upgrade. 

Our entire team enjoys a sober lifestyle so we can authentically share experiences, inspire our community and offer understanding in all our efforts. The ideal candidate for this role is a social media marketing expert living a sober lifestyle, who is excited to help this company grow and change lives.

This position will be mostly work from home, however in-person collaboration with Kate is required, therefore, you must be either local to Glossop, Derbyshire or willing to travel to Glossop every month for video content creation and collaboration. 

This is a part-time, employee position with flexibility in setting your schedule to work 25 hours per week. The tasks required in this role typically fit into a Monday to Friday 11 am – 7 pm work framework. During product launches and busy seasons, we tend to tap into hours outside that range. 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Social Media Growth: Create and deliver posts that grow our social media platforms both in terms of engagement (comments, shares) and the numeric value (number of followers).
  • Prioritise email list growth in consistent, ongoing social media campaigns and the development of new lead magnets.
  • Ensure channel-specific best practices and guidelines are utilised in all efforts.
  • Stay up to speed on new social media marketing industry trends and how we can use them to add value to our audience.
  • Content Calendars: Create a strategic and organised content calendar that ties into what promotions or pre-launch period we’re in, what’s going on in the world, in Kate’s life and business, what blog videos are being released and more.
  • Draft for timely approval all quote posts and graphics using Canva. 
  • Collaborate in person to film video reels with Kate to bank content.
  • Edit video content and post reels to social media channels.
  • Collaborate with Kate on ideas and drafts for lead magnets to refresh and encourage new leads to join our email list.
  • Ensure The Sober School brand is consistent across all social media platforms while executing a regular posting strategy, including creating and/or repurposing engaging content that establishes our presence as an authority.
  • Prioritising community engagement and responding to customers who voice their feedback, questions, or complaints on social media channels. 
  • Create monthly reports detailing top posts, follower growth, campaign success and any other important metrics.
  • Weekly tracking and updates for reporting on analytics to ensure suggestions for timely improvement based on your findings in these reports. 
  • Gather and document feedback and insights from our communities on social. Tweak our content strategy to match what our audience is asking for and/or in need of.


Experience preferred:

  • Professional video editing
  • Canva proficiency
  • Project management software familiarity
  • Excellence at professional use of Instagram, Facebook, X and Tik Tok.

  • You have the analytical prowess and technical knowledge to effectively manage an organic social content calendar that drives engagement on our platforms.
  • You are a thinker and a doer. This position is a mix of both. You can come up with strong, smart content ideas and you also don’t hesitate to jump in and implement them once approved.
  • You understand the power of a good story and you are a master at asking the right questions of the right people to bring that story to life through your copy writing drafts.
  • You’re an effective communicator, especially in writing. Your grammar and writing skills are top-notch.
  • You have a knack for identifying social media trends before they become trends and pride yourself in implementing them quickly to be first to market with your new ideas.
  • You are masterful at tapping into the unique voice of our brand. 
  • You love measuring and tracking the success of your campaigns and growth endeavours. You rely on analytics to give you insight into what’s working and what’s not.

Please note: This is predominantly a remote employee position, however this role requires regular (monthly) in-person collaboration in Glossop, Derbyshire. Applicants must be either local to Glossop or willing to travel to Glossop every month.

Pay: £17- £20 an hour based upon experience. 25 hours per week
