2024 In Review: Our Alcohol-Free Highlights Of The Year

Every December, I invite the women I’ve been coaching at The Sober School to send me a photo of their alcohol-free highlight of the year.

It might be a moment they were so glad they were sober and fully present for, or perhaps something that wouldn’t have even happened if they’d been drinking.

Every picture is a reminder of how much bigger and better life gets when you ditch alcohol… so it’s a real pleasure to share these photos with you today.

This is probably my best blog post of the year… watch this video to get seriously inspired!

This is such a good time to be reflecting on your year and what you want 2025 to look and feel like. If you’ve got a favourite alcohol-free highlight that you’d like to share, let me know in the comments below. I’d love to hear about it!

Hi, I'm Kate

I founded The Sober School to show you there’s another way out of your shame that doesn’t involve AA or rehab.

  1. Kate, your video of sober
moments for your students was amazing! I had tears in my eyes. I really feel your approach to quitting alcohol is the answer for me. I’m on the list for your next class on January 6th. I have a special journal that I got for class that has the “tree of life” on the cover.
Thank you for all the inspiration and thanks to all those amazing women in the video with their joyous stories.

    1. I agree Barb and it’s my favourite blog of the year for that reason – a real tear jerker! Who knows, it could be you next year featuring in the video. I’d be honoured to help you make that happen. ❤️

  2. Having had my 3rd AF christmas today I am cheering to all of you sober Bees and I am so proud to be a part of this tribe. The freedom, joy and peace that comes with being sober – there is no price for. Instead we get a prize, we get back our life ( with all it’s obstacles), more tools and courage than we had before, when misusing alcohol. The power of the club, the engaged and talented coaches here at The Sober School helped me to let go of this burdon named alcohol. I never looked back since.
    Frohe Weihnachten/Merry christmas

    1. So lovely to hear you are still embracing the freedom, peace and joy of sobriety – that’s the true essence of it especially at this time of year. Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2025 Claudia! ❤️

  3. Kate:
Merry Christmas! After a year filled with ups and downs here on the farm with my husband’s advancing age and health emergencies, and my post breast cancer stuff, I am so grateful to have found you 7 years ago! All the decisions and yes, the depression would not have been survivable if I would have been drinking…
I just can’t thank you enough for all of the information you gave us….
    God Bless,
    Jean , Jan 2018

    1. Thank you for these kind words Jean, I really appreciate it. It warms my heart to know that you’re doing the absolute best thing for your health and happiness by ditching the alcohol. Wishing you both a very happy and healthy New Year. 🙂

  4. Wow! Amazingly moving! You are an inspiration as are all of those lovely ladies beaming with happiness. Happy Christmas to everyone xx

  5. Thank you Kate and the Team for making my year, your support and dedication to helping us get sober and stay sober is something that should be celebrated and shared.
Looking forward to reaching my 1 year goal in 2025.
    Thank you

10 Reasons To Quit Drinking, According To Sober Celebrities
I’ve always been fascinated by the sheer number of celebrities who quietly don’t drink alcohol. I’m not talking about famous people who’ve fought well-publicised battles with booze. I’m more interested in the celebs who quietly decided that Hollywood’s...

The Joy Of Being Sober Smug
In my drinking days, the idea that sobriety could be anything other than deprivation and punishment seemed completely laughable to me.  I was sure that sober people were missing out, big time. So it’s kind of funny that I’m sat here, talking about the...
